Laura Wilkinson

Laura is a Director and serves as the firm's Head of Compliance. In this role, she works closely with the Management Team to oversee regulatory and compliance standards across the entire firm, ensuring the highest levels of compliance and client care. 

Laura’s responsibilities include; - 

• Developing and managing the firm's overall compliance strategy to align with business goals.
• Ensuring the firm meets all obligations set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
• Overseeing the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) framework and acting as a key contact for related queries.
• Managing internal audits and file reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Drafting and updating key compliance policies, procedures, and registers.
• Proactively monitoring changes in legislation and delivering targeted training to staff across all departments.
• Providing clear, front-line advice to colleagues on matters of professional ethics, conflicts, and confidentiality.

Laura is a highly skilled and experienced property Solicitor who previously worked in leadership roles in our Residential Property department based in our Hanley office. Laura has a strong background in Conveyancing and has provided exceptional legal service to clients over many years. In the past she has worked in a large regional firm supervising and providing technical expertise and supervision to the Property team specifically on high risk, high value, unusual and complex property transactions.

Laura has acquired an extensive knowledge over the years and has developed key relationships with local agents, professionals and businesses engaged in the property market and has helped hundreds of families and individuals throughout her career.

Laura’s extensive experience in residential conveyancing, coupled with her attention to detail and strong communication skills, make her exceptional in Compliance leadership.
