Dominic Jones

Associate Solicitor • Medical Negligence • Personal Injury

Dominic is the head of our Medical Negligence department. He is a solicitor and Deputy District Judge on the Midlands Circuit.

He specialises in recovering compensation for people who have been seriously injured as a result of medical or dental negligence. He deals with claims against GPs, A & E departments, NHS and private hospitals, NHS and private dentists.

Dominic also specialises in dealing with complex personal injury claims against employers, private companies, local authorities and from accidents arising out of RTAs.

His experience in medical and dental negligence claims includes dealing with cases arising out of misdiagnosis, failure to refer, delays and mistakes in treatment, surgical errors, failure to spot cancer and other potentially life changing diseases and failure to spot and keep on top of acquired infections.

He also deals with claims in which mistakes in diagnosis or treatment have resulted in a patient’s death and where compensation is being sought by bereaved relatives. In this regard he may additionally be able to provide representation at a Coroners Inquest.

Described by clients as “absolutely focused on getting the best possible outcome for those he represents”, Dominic is a lawyer who will work hard to get you the compensation you deserve and who takes the time to ensure you understand your options through clear and easy to follow legal advice.

The majority of the cases he handles are settled without the need to go to court and on terms which fairly reflect the severity of the injury that has occurred.

In injury claims, the cost of rehabilitation treatments and mobility aids will also be sought as part of the compensation package, along with any loss of earnings and the costs associated with providing ongoing long term care.

Dominic has had many notable successes during his long career and has handled cases worth in excess of four million pounds.

Recent successes include:

  • securing a six figure sum for a client who was left with permanent nerve damage to one of their arms and hands when a surgeon in a private hospital mistook a nerve for a tendon;
  • securing a five figure sum for a client who was injured as a result of mistakes made by their dentist while they were being fitted for crowns and having bridgework undertaken;
  • securing a five figure sum for a client who sustained avoidable kidney damage as a result of a failure on the part of their GP to tackle long term high blood pressure; and
  • securing a five figure sum for a diabetic client who suffered a hypoglycaemic episode, pressure sores and admission to hospital as a result of inadequate monitoring of her condition by a care home.
